Kaava Watson is a Birri Gubba and Kungalu man. Born and raised in Brisbane, Kaava completed his primary and secondary education at the Aboriginal and Islander Independent Community School, commonly referred to as ‘Murri School’. After high school, he completed a Bachelor of Justice degree majoring in Criminology, and is currently in the final stages of completing a Bachelor of Law at Queensland University Technology. Since leaving high school, Kaava has predominantly worked in areas related to Indigenous youth and education. He is currently employed with a scholarship program for young people from remote communities in Cape York attending boarding school Brisbane.
