Let’s Talk – Lorena Allam

04 March 2019

Karen Dorante speaks to The Guardian Australia’s Indigenous Affairs editor and journalist, Lorena Allam about their special investigation into Australia’s state-sanctioned massacres of Aboriginal people from 1788 to 1928.  Their initial research has uncovered 270 documented massacres but there are more likely to be  uncovered.  The research was prompted by calls for a process of truth-telling in Australia to understand the dispossession and trauma inflicted on First Nations peoples since colonisation.
