Bourke in far northwest of NSW was once described by the Sydney Morning Herald in 2013 as the most dangerous place in the world because of high crime rates. Around the same time a community-led justice project started up to address the over-representation of Indigenous people in the legal system by targeting the underlying factors leading to offending behaviour.  The project, Maranguka reversed crime rates and according to a KPMG study saved governments millions of dollars.We speak to the chief executive officer, Alistair Ferguson.
