Today we focus on the story of Aunty Rhonda Collard Spratt and her removal from her family. Aunty Rhonda was taken from her mother at age three and placed at Carnarvon Native Mission in Western Australia. She was forced to assimilate and told to forget her family, her culture, and her language. She was moved to various homes, subjected to violence and abuse.   Today she holds her head high as a survivor and pure inspiration. Her story will give you emu bumps (her words for goosebumps). Her book ‘Alice’s Daughter, the Lost Mission Child tells the story of Aunty Rhonda’s search for culture and family as she faces violence, racism, foster families, and her father’s death in custody.
