In this episode of Let’s Talk, Boe Spearim speaks with BIMA’s new CEO Jyi Lawton, a proud descendant of the Bidjara people in Central Queensland and Mackenzie clan from the northwest highlands of Scotland.

Jyi has undertaken tertiary study across a range of areas in Architectural Design, Law and Justice and Business. He holds a Bachelor of Criminology through the Queensland University of Technology and a graduate of the Murra Indigenous Masterclass through Melbourne Business School. Jyi is an entrepreneur as the previous founder and Managing Director of Yimbana Management Consulting, an award-winning artist and has held operational and senior leadership positions across State and Federal Government in youth justice, business and economic development.
