On the 24th of November the Federal Environment Minister Susan Ley gave Santos approval for the Narrabri Gas Project which will see 850 gas wells drill up to a kilometer deep. Since this has happened some young Gamilaraay people have decided to join elders and older people in this fight against Santos mining, These young people have since start a collective called Gamilaraay Next Generation that has called a day of action on the 3rd of December 2020 in Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne.
