Potts Entertainment, Chugg Entertainment and Frontier Touring are thrilled to announce that CMC ROCKS
QLD will return to its home at Willowbank, Ipswich from Wednesday 21st to Sunday 25th September 2022,
and today revealed its starstudded list of headliners; US superstar BRAD PAISLEY and US country/pop
phenomenon KANE BROWN will visit Australia for the very first time and Australia’s favourite son
MORGAN EVANS, will head back from Nashville, Tennessee to play the main stage at CMC Rocks.
In its 15th
Anniversary year, CMC Rocks QLD will land at Willowbank in September rather than March, a
decision that event organisers have said was driven by a desire to deliver an epic festival experience to
country music lovers as early as possible, after the global pandemic forced the 2020 festival to postpone and
fans missed out again in 2021.
Chairman of Chugg Entertainment, Michael Chugg commented, “We couldn’t wait! We know that it’s been a
long year and a half for country music fans, we’ve felt it too. After making the heartbreaking decision to
postpone our 2020 event a week before the festival was due to take place, we’ve been working hard to
navigate all the changes and find the best way forward, safely”.
“We are so proud to be returning on our 15
th anniversary year. Next September’s festival will be a celebration
of everything that has made CMC Rocks and the CMC Rocks community so incredibly special – and for the
privilege to gather together again and be united by our love of country music. It’s also very special to be
making this announcement on my late father Rob Potts’ birthday. His vision as founder of CMC Rocks is
what we are striving to live up to and bring to life, and to be coming back with Brad Paisley as one of our
headliners – an artist he worked to bring to Australia since the festival began – will make it as unforgettable
for us as it will be for the fans,” said Jeremy Dylan, Festival Director, Potts Entertainment.
From 2023 onward, it’s expected the event will return to its regular March slot on the annual calendar.
CMC Rocks QLD is gearing up to deliver the ultimate country music experience in its anticipated 2022
homecoming. With headliners Brad Paisley, Kane Brown and Morgan Evans announced today, the full lineup
will be revealed in the coming months and will include other top-calibre local and international artists. CMC
Rock QLD 2022 promises an incredible celebration of music, community and country spirit.
Brad Paisley is one of country music’s biggest stars. He’s earned his place in country music history as one of
the genre’s most talented and decorated artists. Over the past 20 years, his songwriting and unmatched
showmanship have won him numerous awards, including three GRAMMYs, two American Music Awards,
14 Country Music Association Awards and 15 Academy of Country Music Awards among many others.
A member of the Grand Ole Opry since 2001, Brad Paisley has scored 32 Top 10 singles on the US Billboard
Country Airplay. His 2017 album ‘Love and War’ which features collaborations with the likes of Mick Jagger,
John Fogerty and Timbaland, debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. This year saw the
release of new music from Brad with ‘City of Music’, an ode to the dreamers who arrive in Nashville hoping
to make it big.
Without doubt one of the most exciting artists on the global stage, Kane Brown has achieved huge success in
both the country and mainstream spheres. His appearance on CMC Rock QLD 2022 will be his first ever visit
to Australia.
Since his 2015 breakthrough single ‘Used To Love You Sober’, Brown has claimed multiple CMT, ACM and
American Music Awards, most recently taking out the ACM Award in April for Video of the Year for his hit
single ‘Worldwide Beautiful’.
Brown is one of only five country acts with multiple 4 x Platinum hits, joining the distinguished ranks of
Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line and Sam Hunt. With his No.1 Billboard album Experiment
(2018), Kane Brown became the only male country artist in over 24 years to top the chart on debut.
Kane’s collaborations with the likes of Marshmello on ‘One Thing Right’, Nelly on ‘Cool Again’, Khalid and
Swae Lee on ‘Be Like That’ have brought country and R&B pop genres together like no other artist has. With
his latest single ‘Memory’ with blackbear, Kane steps it up a notch, delivering one of his most dynamic tracks
to date. Brown’s songs have amassed over an incredible 4 billion streams.
Australian born and bred Morgan Evans has a special connection to CMC Rocks. Having cut his teeth as a
fledgling performer on the CMC Rocks lineup over the years, Evans has grown to become one of the most
exciting artists on the global country music scene right now.
Having relocated to Nashville in 2017, Morgan exploded onto the US Billboard Country Airplay chart with
‘Kiss Somebody’ hitting #1 and being certified Gold and achieving Platinum in Australia. ‘Day Drunk’
followed which hit the Top 20 in the US and is certified 2 x Platinum in Australia. Both hit singles feature on
Morgan’s album ‘Things That We Drink To’ which reached the Top 10 on the US Billboard Country Album
chart and Top 5 in Australia on the ARIA Album chart. Morgan went on to win the ARIA Award for
Country Album of the Year in 2019.
Morgan Evans is about to release a new EP ‘The Country And The Coast Side A’ which is due on 29 October.
The first single lifted from the six track release is ‘Love Is Real’, which has spent six weeks at number 1 on the
Australian Country Radio chart.
